149 Japanese Investment Projects Have Been Approved by the CDC as of August 2022

PHNOM PENH: At the 24th Meeting of the Cambodia-Japan Joint Committee held on Wednesday, 7 September, it was revealed that the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has approved 149 Japanese investment projects as of August 2022, with a total investment capital of about US $2.9 billion.

The 24th Meeting of the Cambodia-Japan Joint Committee was held under the chairmanship of The Minister Attached to the Prime Minister, Sok Chenda Sophea, the Secretary-General of CDC, and the Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia, Mikami Masahiro, with the participation of representatives of JETRO, JICA, JBAC and Japanese companies operating in Cambodia.

During the meeting, Minister Sok Chenda Sophea expressed his appreciation for the investment activities of all Japanese investors in Cambodia who have put their trust in the Royal Government, which has ensured peace, along with political and economic stability, creating a favorable investment environment in the country.

Ambassador Mikami Masahiro also expressed his appreciation for the relevant ministries and institutions who have made efforts to coordinate and respond to the concerns of Japanese investors. He said this underscores the Royal Government’s strong attention to maintaining and providing warmth to every investor.

The Ambassador further expressed his appreciation to the Cambodian Government for creating a conducive investment environment in all areas, and stressed the commitment of Japanese investors to continue investing more in Cambodia to contribute to the recovery of the country’s economy following the Covid-19 crisis.
